Biography Nevena Bridgen


Nevena Bridgen is an international soprano and the permanent principal soloist of The National Opera Theatre in Belgrade, Serbia. As a child growing up in the midst of the Balkans War, she discovered her natural gift of music.  Nevena has spent her career exploring how sound itself can be converted from a reminder of conflict to a message of peace.

Her roles include Sister Angelica in Sister Angelica , Bastienne in Bastien and Bastienne , Ines in Il Trovatore, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, Susana in Marriage of Figaro.

In 2017/2018 season she will debut as , Mimi in La Bohème , Zerlina in Don Giovanni , Norina in Don Pasquale and Desdemona in Otello.

Nevena had an American debut at the National Opera Centre of America as The Countess in Marriage of Figaro.

Nevena has performed for audiences in Belgrade, New York, London, and Madrid. 

Concert appearances include Shakespeare's adaptation The Marry wife's of Windsor, British Film Institute in London , charity gala for the  Royal Family of Serbia in New York, Belef Summer festival in Belgrade,  National Day of Serbia, Presidency of Serbia in  Belgrade, 50 anniversary of the Belgrade Youth Centre, Vienna Ball in Belgrade, official ceremony celebration of the American Independence Day,

A committed recitalist, appearances include “Notes on Love”, International project “Art Diaspora” conducted by Belgrade Youth Centre and the Office for Diaspora of the Serbian Government, Lauderdale House in London, City Hall in Belgrade, Burgh House in  London, St Peter's Church, Notting Hill in London ,Christ Church Spitalfields in  London, Hyde Park Chapel in  London, House of Djura Jaksic in  Belgrade, St Mary’s autumn proms in Henley on the Thames, Revolution, Guildhall Festival

Nevena is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (MMUS) in London where she studied under the world-renowned Professor Rudolf Piernay.

Nevena regularly appears in all leading media in Balkan.
